Hey Members ,
I see that there is a list of supplyers for parts, but I am after a person in Victoria
that you would recomend to do repaires to wooden boats .
I have been trying to contact Peter Adcock but after 6 calls and 2 msgs
I get the distinct impression he is not interested .
I have been looking for a contact for John Bowman at Rivercraft without succuss .
Do we have a list of repairers?
I have a patch of rot in the bottom of my Seacraft 140 under the passenger seat
about 600mm square that needs replacing and am not with the boat long enough
to do the job. A compantant 2 pack sprayer will be required to finish the job also.

Boat repairers
Re: Boat repairers
Ric
The Wooden Boat Shop at Sorrento do really good work, but are a bit scary on the prices.
Frecheville-Heaney would be another good option, but out of town a bit at Paynesville
Otherwise, give Scotty Botterill a call. He had someone do the bottom of his Seacraft Líl Glamour.

Re: Boat repairers
Another one for you to consider is Don McClymont at Advantage Marine in Highett (Melb). Don did Turbo Fire for me and also did work on Rebound. He also has a spray booth that will easily take a boat. I happily recommend Don and his work. I've seen some of the tricky repairs that he has done to tunnel hulls that have gone over and it's all first rate. Right now he has an Eddy mid mount hull getting a new transom, deck and wings. You can call him on 03 9555 6230 or 0416 100 754

Re: Boat repairers
Hey Ric,
Just do what the previous repairers of Classique did, grab a piece of 20 mm formply, chuck it near the place you need to fix,mix up some epoxy, add some silicone and anything else you have handy and just pour it in the bottom of the hull, doesnt matter if it sticks or not just go boating!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Boat repairers
Hi Ric, as Phil mentioned I would be able to do your repairs. My name is Stephen Scott and have a workshop in Footscray which is on the Western side of Melbourne. I am an Engineering Patternmaker with looking for a career change.
I have built from scratch 2 16 foot long hydroplanes (1 timber and 1 fibreglass) and am in the process of building another. I repaired the 4.2 litre hydroplane "Its Magic'' after it was involved in an accident where the right sponson was torn off.
As far as ski boats go I gave a timber Simkin with a 186 Holden motor a make over, stripping the deck back to bare timber and applying a 2 pack clear finish and stripped the hull to bare timber and painted it with a 2 pack red colour. I also done extensive repairs to the cav plate and transom and made new seats and floor and re apalsted the interior. I sold this boat to a guy in Yarrawonga, I did hear it was at one of your events at Bundulong not to long ago. The boat was called AQUAHOLIC.
Enough rambling, if you or anyone else need any sort of boat work done please give me a call.

Re: Boat repairers
Christ that's it I'm never flying Qantas again if the engineers can scrape through the system with only semi-literate skills....
" A compantant 2 pack sprayer will be required to finish the job also.
Ric..." So Ric, did you mean which of the following : Incompetent, Incontinent, Continent, Combatant, Non-combatant, Consonant, or Confident?
I can vouch for Aquasonic's workmanship, and can probably sum up the attention to detail score with one word - actually I can't say it here but if you think "sphincter" you'll be on the right track!!
Very nice work indeed (on Habit's hydro called My Pink Poodle). Even with Habits' doing his bits and pieces in between Scott's visits, the job is still first rate.
