Tassie Bushfires

Postby Greg » 06 Jan 2013, 21:21

For all of you in Tassie, our thoughts are with you at this time. I think I can talk for all of us mainlanders in saying that we feel your pain at this time. You don't have to be amongst the fires, only near them, to feel the sense of loss and devastation other people suffer. All the best.

Thanks Greg
I am actually down at Port Arthur , all the roads still closed , no power etc. Emergency services kicked in quickly, they are still boating supplies in as there are still heaps of tourists down here living in cars and community centres. The power may be 3-4 weeks away as there are over 600 power poles gone. I have been fortunate to catch fish and at least 1 crayfish everyday. I scored a box of beer today to boot , so food all good.
All the locals are sharing generators and there is now fuel available. Mobile phones are back on also , hence this post.
I hope to get out by the weekend !!
