Hi all, I have it on good information that the organisers of the Bright Rod Run have had enough of the accomodation owners in Bright jacking up their prices over the rod run weekend, and as such they have pulled the whole thing out of Bright. In 2013 the run will be held in ..... wait for it...Yarrawonga!
It is programmed in for the weekend after Melbourne Cup, which will obviously be a week after Narrandera.
If anybody intends going to the rod run, particularly with their boats, they are welcome to base themselves at my place. For those of you who are not aware of the size of this gathering, it is probably the biggest gathering of rods and classics on the national calendar, and is totally geared towards those vehicles, rather than the hoon spectacle that you would see at Summernats or Springnats. Our boats would be a massive hit. I would say that the Yarrawonga foreshore will be utilised for a show and shine location, and a display of woody's would be highly popular. Without the strangulation previously imposed by the APBA at the Griffith Cup meeting in the past, we would be free to put the boats in the water to provide some mobile action as well, whenever we pleased.
Cheers, Jon.
Bright Rod Run on the move 2013
Re: Bright Rod Run on the move 2013
Sounds good Jon,
Maybe I can take the whole week off and go straight down with the rest of the Mexicans after Narrandera. You guys normally go back on the Tuesday don't you?
Mmmmm ... I wonder if I can finish the Falcon wagon by then. It would be a perfect first outing....
Cheers!
Neil
