Sunny Hobart Ross, about 300 ks south of Devonport, Alan Mansfield (Fury) lives up there and you may go past his way if you head west of Devonport?

If you like surfing take the board, plenty of powerfull waves there!!!!!!

Ps watch out for the cows and what they may drop on the road, the rugged west coast mate, it will be a highlight, enjoy.

Ahoy all!

Have returned to sunny Tasmania shores after four weeks travel, still a bit quiet on the board!
Got the latest e news re the wooden boat festival here in February.

Go to www.australianwoodenboatfestival.com.au then click on hot news then go to the September e news.

Just in case you don't bother there is an interesting article which is a first for the festival and something those of us with power boats have suggested more than once! Its nice to see the static displays but even better to view them strutting their stuff!

"The Wooden Power Boat Challenge"

'This is an event especially for power boats constructed of wood. It begins with a concours d'elegance at the Royal Hobart Regatta Grounds, where visitors will be able to see and admire the boats, followed by a short and exciting 'spin around the corner' to cross the finish line in Sullivans Cove. This is an invitational event with more than one class, and prizes to match. We're looking for classic speedboats, gentlemen's runabouts and vintage racing boats.'

To be continued! Chris

Despite the wind committed to take Tomboy for a run ready for what I hope will be a busy summer on the water (maybe chasing the Fat Pigeon around?) and of course to get the plaque in 2013.

Bit of a delay getting to the water though! During the winter, boat last used in June 2012, I pulled all the interior out, when I pulled the covers off to put it all back in I found a massive ant farm.

Tomboy towed to the Motor Yacht Club at Lindisfarne, started second turn! Notice the auxillary propulsion in the background, most the same age as the boat, so period correct. :P

You may remember I said it was windy, certainly need the liquid nails Hooks to keep the wig and hat on mate.

Off to New Norfolk, Tomboy just cut through the waves like a hot knife through butter!
