hello again chris .the new boats looking great .im waiting for the weather to clear .and the hawksbury river to clean up a bit .before i run the hydro .i talked to dave pagano and he said the river is a mess, and with good weather everyone is one the water not worth risking the boat .so ill wait another few more days .i still have my rc hydro i ran it once it was so fast it scared to proverbial out of me. if the river doesn't look good there is a meeting at toukley i might get a few laps on my own and there is a fellow i know owns a hydro called the spook im sure ill get good tips from. though i want to get tips off dave first ,on a quiet day.

Hi Peter,
hopefully the river has cleaned up and you can get a run in? Dave's tips will be good help. As you say, better to wait to when it is quiet and clear of excess boats. I am waiting on a turn fin being made up by Newby Eng as well and then I will get the skeg and fin HPC coated. Have a long way to go but slowly getting there. The keel on the Syndicate will be slightly built up to be flush with the skeg base.

Cheers

Chris.

Peter

It was indeed a pleasure to watch your little hydro and you do your thing. You will become more familiar with its handling after a while, but I thought that you did well for your first drive of a hydro.

It did look good coming down the straights with its rooster tail flying.

I was wondering how it went. Didn't realise it was in this link.
Well done and sounds like it went home still running.

Hi Peter,
good to hear that your hydro ran well! And that it is fast and that it handled the chop well. Great to hear,
guess you had great fun at Toukley.

I now have a steel turn fin for the Syndicate and hope to have it ceramic coated in a week or two.
Have a week at work then off to Melbourne again to work on the trailer for Wildfire. Next year, next will be a trailer
for the Syndicate. Trying to do both boats at same time is a bit of a mission. By mid next year, when I hope to have the Syndicate at home, this will probably overtake Wildfire as it will be easier to get going.

Cheers

Chris.

Hi All, I haven't posted anything in quite sometime, so my apologies. It was good to get down to Narrandera and check
out a few other boats. It was a last minute decision to drive down there as it looked as though I was going to be working.

Thanks Ken, for the ride in your great Seacraft, really good. Can't wait to see how well my other boat (Wildfire) goes with the jag six. Was impressed with the triple SU set up of Ken's Seacraft, so the same setup on the jag should be great as well once sorted. But the focus at the moment is to complete the new boat first.

I finally have my new Syndicate (17') hull back in my shed. The bottom (white) is finished in two pack polyurethane, as is inside. The sides and deck are still in epoxy and will be finished once the boat is fitted out. I am currently finishing off
the alloy angle brackets that will mount the bearers to the hull and these will be anodised. I have also accquired many small parts etc. Still a long way to go. I have attached a few photos.

Regards

Chris.

Plan to make my own trailer later on, the boat was easy to get on the tyres (light).
