Good pick up El Presidenta! Ahoy Craig it’s my go to spot about 15 mins by car from place but the launch ramp is a bit marginal particularly good weather on a weekend! So I launch another 30 mins away at Lindisfarne if you know Hobart basically eastern side of the Tasman Bridge, then cruise down the Derwent 40 mins south of Hobart unless you put the hammer down! Cheers

Ahoy all and happy and safe boating new year!!
Almost 12 months since I posted and Tomboy was last used Feb 2024!!! So with the wooden boat festival here in February I dragged Tomboy out for a wash and a run on the hose and happy to report all systems are go. I have not entered the festival for personal reasons I won’t bore you with but if weather permits will take a few mates out on the the first day for “the parade of sail”. We are getting nice weather at the moment so if it continues I will give Tomboy a run and even maybe Torea, with the usual photographic evidence, so to be continued…cheers

Looking good Chivs. I see powerboats don't even rate a mention in the Wooden Boat Festival's advertising. Sad to see its got to this.

Ahoy Craig! Yes mate you are quite correct, it seems to me the popularity of the festival and goal to pack it with as many boats as they can (some of which are relatively modern reproductions with just as much fibreglass than wood?) some of the original classics view is shielded by the number of others rafted up together. In my case previously I had two others rafted up to me with owners, family and friends using my boat to get to theirs, whilst Tomboy is solid you can imagine the issues with those not so boat savvy climbing across, does my head in so that’s the main reason I don’t enter any more!!

Wow Chivs. That pretty off putting. Fair enough reason in my eyes too.
