My Termite is dead.

Postby deepheater » 10 Feb 2014, 16:19

It was good to meet some of you guys at the get together at Bonnels Bay recently, unfortunatly my boat Termite II blew a head gasket sometime during the day and now the motor is stuffed. After pulling it down it needs a full rebuild as it was salt water that blended with my oil causing a catastrophe inside. So my season was short lived but hopefully i will b back next year bigger and better. Thanks guys it was fun while it lasted.

I feel your pain, as do a good few of the other guys. We have all been there, some of us are there now!

Welcome to the world of powerboating. I feel your pain. How bad is the engine inside. Can anything be salvaged or the bores are rusted up?
Good luck with it.

Hmmm Head gasket, I would suggest buying a new boat but some of them already come with blown head gaskets
Sorry to hear of your woe

Yeh, thanks for your comments guys. I think i got it in time, only surface rust on bores. Bit of loose rust in the water jackets, ill take it to an engine builder and see what he says. going to need a at least a hone, new bearings, rebuild heads. Rebuild has got to be cheaper than a $3000 new engine. Cant get rid of my baby i love her too much! Pete
