"good excuse for slowdown"

Postby rayza1 » 17 Jul 2014, 08:18

Hi All, just a quick update on my lack of progress with the boats of late, Carol and I have become engaged to be married! A GOOD deal of Pagans funds have been diverted to buying a ring, while I realise this is NOT a valid excuse for slow progress it's the only one I have (oh, apart from a bout of vertigo that has laid me up for a week) I'm now standing by for the torrent of comment that this contentious issue (boat vs ring) will raise. cheers all Ray AND Carol

Congratulations Ray and Carol . You wil be bigamists ,married to each other and the boats.
However buying a ring is clearly no excuse for neglecting Pagan.

Regards
Stuart and Sara

Ps We are at Wolf Creek in WA and have internet , bloody amazing!

Congratulations Ray and Carol, you lovebirds!

Still, a wedding is really not an excuse for a slowdown Ray. Get back to work!

Congratulations Ray and pink bits! Very cunning plan mate, no doubt honeymoon wooden boat festival in Hobart 2015? The love boat and captain ready to entertain said love birds on the river with a couple of potential cabin boys at both your disposal, as long as your hands a re clean Ray.

Noticed on e bay a matching engagement and wedding ring on e bay at $50 for both, there is a buy it now price but at $199? Surely you would only pay that for new stuff or is it like boat stuff a little bit pricey for new stuff?

On the other hand following Damo over there in the west I'm sure he could fabricate something for less than $50!

Let the arguments commence, I think you have been both married before, if not don't let carol eat the wedding cake mate, just saying!

Cheers x O

Thanks for all the good wishes guys, we haven't stopped laughing. I have the perfect accessory to go with the new missus ! A new (old) Vanguard !!!!! I can now tow Pagan to club do's with a period correct, mechanically related "classic" (ish) car. Not sure what i'm more excited about. (have to be careful what I put up here, Carol reads the board messages!) Are we the first club members to wed? Hope so otherwise it could get weird.

Congratulations Ray and Carol
The original owner/builder sold my boat to get married. Emma and I have been married for 4 years and the boat is still here and too top it off the nationals fall around our wedding anniversary noting my lack of attentance since 2008. I am hoping that the wooden boat bug rubs off on the kids. Cheers chris

We were married in October 2005 and had a honeymoon to the Narrandera nationals! Not sure if I've been forgiven for that but maybe the holiday to Bali 2 weeks ago without the kids made up for it?
