Nice one Hooks

Not sure about the water colour, might help with the tan?

Are you sure you don't want me to bring the chain saw mate?

Yes Chivs we don't have the pristine clear water up here like you do, but by inland Aus standards the lake's pretty good. We never get blue green algae blooms or anything, and yes, you do tan up after swimming in it for a while. You're lucky with the water quality at Meadowbank dam that's for sure. Re the chainsaw; all those trees standing in the lake are now classified as heritage or something so you can't touch them. We're supposed to just sit back while they rot away then topple over - causing the imaginable boating hazards. Apparently you can't even set fire to them during the night time, but I wouldn't know anything about that :P

Those trees are clearly the nesting place of the famed and extremely close to extinction yellow bellied sap sucking parrot. A study was undertaken in 1987,1992,1998, 2002 and a royal commission in 2005 found they may still exist having survived the ravages of the Tasmanian Tiger.

Darren those parrots are bloody good tucker too, which is the main reason why they're so thin on the ground. Nearly as good as platypus. I agree with you Alan re the cold water, I worked on the west coast of Tassie for a few years and there was a water-ski club there based on Lake Roseberry - they had a Brass Monkey Club, the stipulation for acceptance was you had to ski when the surrounding mountains had snow on them.

Was that water ski or skate, most of the boats down in Tassie have tracks on them !

Hi Hooks,
Well as luck would have it the first day of my new job is the 14th of January. I don't quite have the balls to chuck a sickie on my first day  I think I'll have to miss out on Yarrawonga for 2013. Sorry guys. Hopefully the stars will be better aligned for 2014...

Cheers!

Neil
