Well done Dave. Just keep reminding yourself: It's 1940's British engineering - anything is possible, but persistence is the essence.

Hope everyone has a great day.

What a great day. We had a great roll up of boats. Around ten runabouts, one skiff and two hydros all of which finished.
Aggressor ran a bit rough for the first couple of miles and then cleared itself and ran a lot bettter. Its still had a flat spot up high but was quite content to tick over at 2400 rpm which translates to just over 120mph.
The boat sits on the water flat and level. You really get a sense of its scale and power when its underway. Just an awsome ride.
I used 100 litres of fuel and two gallons of oil most of which was on my face.
Tomorrow ill check over the hull and see if its still in one piece.

Great stuff Dave. I've been hanging or some news of how the day went. Aggressor runs again, how wonderful is that. 100 litres of avgas, a couple of gallons of oil - as I said the other day, ahhh, British engineering. Chicken feed in the scale of things, whether your having a great afternoon or saving England from an aggressor.

have to agree we all had a great day despite nearly sinking thrifty being towed to the ramp at the finish . some eager hamonds caused large wakes and thrifty under tow is bow down and when I went over a large wave she tried to be a submarine and filled the boat with water .,supposed she needed a wash?

Hey Dave, congratulations, that must have been one hell of a buzz for you as we'll as the spectators. Hope some good bids emerge in due course.

Definitely a great day.
Unfortunately as I was out on the water already I missed seeing aggressor running on the water. From behind all you can see when it took off was a huge cloud of smoke and spray... 8-)
There must have been about 10 Hammonds there running together and a few others. At the finish line it was neck and neck between Mystress and Binky II (Everingham). I think I just got pipped at the post. Damn good fun though!

I got a couple of photos but my helmet cam wasn't working. If anyone has any photos or video of the run please put them up.
Here's a couple I do have though...

Can not understand why there is not a thing about it [Bridge to Bridge] in the Melbourne herald-sun today.
This is why the sport is going backwards, there's no one giving it to the public to hear or read about it in the general news.
