What type of life jacket would be best suited for use in a skiff? And where can said jacket be obtained?

A proper racing jacket. They are about $500 new. Try record life jackets. They are in sydney.
You could place a wanted ad on oz boat racers forum. A fair few guys have gotten out of racing lately.
