I was watching the news tonight about the Sydney bushfires and knowing the area of the fires, my thoughts were with people we know that live in the area. I then saw footage of a smouldering boat hull.
I've since learnt that Dave P has lost some some assets.
I think I can say on behalf of us all Dave, that our thoughts are with you. While a loss is a loss and fire does not leave much behind, we can only hope that your losses are minimal.

Was thinking of you Dave as soon as I saw the footage, lets hope the loses are minimal, and you and your most valuable assets stay safe.

Re: NSW Fires
Thanks. Ive just got back from the fires. They saved my house but I lost a couple of boats and half a dozen cars. Nothing real special but gone just the same. This fire thing is really wearing me down. Ive been through four of these things now. Im not sure what I need to do next but selling up and moving is an option.
Re: NSW Fires
So sorry to hear of the losses Dave - thankfully Suzie and children and you are okay and of course the house too. Thinking of you during this tough time.

What a bugger sorry to hear of the boats and stuff going up but family and health are more important. Keep your sense of humor and hug the cheese and kisses and the kids!

Re: NSW Fires
Thanks pete. The burn off just bought me maybe a year of feeling safe. I know the bush will be ready to go up again after that as the bureaucrats sit on there hands and dont do burn offs during winter.
Re: NSW Fires
Ive got to be careful being an rfs member ,burns off are a dammed if you do/don't kind of deal some people protest when we do. and stop us .as seen lately a burn can escape.we cannot control mother nature.again its great that the family is ok .any harm to the sheds at all . all one can do is point out to the powers .of the need to do something. unfortunately tragedy strikes before action in a lot of cases .

Re: NSW Fires
Peter doing a burn off on a thirty degree day is madness.
On sunday I was looking at the burn off. I commented to my neighbour that they were leaving this too late to do.
I remember every winter burning off occuring.
Now that the bush across from me is burnt out tomorrow im going in there with my bulldozer and im clesring it. I dont care that its govt land.
Once ive got that sorted ill slash the grass that grows every six months. Im over living in fear.
