Classic Australian Wooden Power Boat Association

I just spotted this one as well, looks OK for $4000.

I know its very bad timing but any of you experienced blokes have an idea of what this is?
Im new here and after a boat but no clue on what to look for regarding rot, repairs, age etc
Would appreciate if somebody could give me a heads up. I know its relatively cheap but I dont need to travel 700km
and spend $4k on firewood - the photos could be 10 yrs old
Does this appear to be a repower? the engine cover seems to have been modified to suit the Ford carb / exhaust

Can't give you much advice regarding its condition. Usually I steer away from hulls that have been glassed over.
Also I have been caught a couple of times with boats having handling problems.
I'd be taking it for a run before I handed over the cash.
My Brother bought a real nice Nankervis with a 454 rear mount.
Brought it home all excited and put it in the water. Whole driveline vibrated that bad it wrecked a gearbox.
Put another box in. Still shakes. Boat now sits in the yard. $11000 it cost him all up.
Having said all that $4000 isn't a lot of money for anything nowadays.
