Have now gone over the carbs, all good except for one striped mixture screw - will sort that out with a helicoil.
Striped the deck of the fittings and gave the deck a thick coat of varnish to-day to help seal it up as the timber would has settled now and had soaked in a little .

Have now done a second coat and refitted the fittings back on the deck , Keyways are now cut into the prop shaft on both ends . This is a shaft I made and has a longer taper to give me the option to run 7/8 or 1" props using spaces between the prop and nut.
Motor has now been honed to the correct size to suit the pistons.
Have got the rubber and s/ steel strap for the fuel tank mounts

Have been doing some time on the boat, have had the temporary motor installed and bolted every thing up .
It runs but there is a vacuum leek some where and it will not idle under 2000 rpm and some thing wrong with the wiring as when the alternator wire for the charge light is connected it will not switch off .
Have pulled off the weber's and manifold to find the leak , may well be the home made gaskets at the carbs that was made from two layers of coke can carton.
Have found that you can suck on the side of them and pull air. I should not be a cheep skate !!!

Running better , motor is tired, but will try and get the boards swelled up as the hose only just gets in front of the filling process.
Will have to let it soak in the lake on the trailer before we try a test run.

Very close to completion now and shown here sporting fresh signwriting and finally revealing a name.

Great job Ross. Just think of how much more you would have had done if we didn't go for 25 kilometer cruises around Eppalock
