So, how was the SA Wooden Boat Festival?

Were there many of our type of boats there? Anything new turn up?

Some new ones, I think the attached link to photos Jeff has posted tell the story.
Personally I hadn't seen U Botla before but had heard of it, John who owns the boat gave me some pics of Jayme II racing from when he racing against it.
Hurricane Hector, Stu Pott & Driftwood were new to me as was Sea Bolt, a Karl Lang hull which has been in the same family from new in 1962. Tobalong hadn't been in the water for about 25 years.
The boat below Fury on the trailer, is owned by Geoff Overall, former driver of the "Insane" racing boats and runs a Rodek SBC.

I enjoyed myself, we got as much time on the water as we liked,
compared to being on static display almost all day like last time.
The event was split across three areas for the first time.
The wharf area for the paddle steamers and cruisers,
the sailing club just along the river hosted the sailing boats,
and the GAC hosted the speedboats.
The usual committee didn't run the event, instead the local council took it over.
While the wharf section was well rehearsed from previous events
they seem to fail in including the speedboats as part of it all.
The big positive was having our own closed waters to just go for it in.
