Yarra or Maribinong cruise

Is it too early to start talking about doing a yarra or maribinong cruise? Alan mentioned a nice hotel past the Anglers hotel that has good mooring for heaps of boats, could be a leisurely run up the river and lunch (drinks). Would be great to do before the weather turns.

Would love to be there! Yarra would be my preference as I missed the last one. Would wigs be required?

I am unsure of any hotel on the Mmaribynong up stream of the Anglers Rest and I dont think that there is any suitable beach in that area. Most of the riverbank is lined with rocks.

The "Hotel" is actualy called "The Boat House" (http://www.theboat-house.com.au/) and would require some organisation but is worth it. With daylight saving can we cruise the Maribynong and have lunch, then cruise the Yarra?

Alan.

How's early March sound - say the first Saturday or Sunday? Too far away?

Hi Guys, RE Yarra cruise, the first weekend would probably be better. The second is a long weekend so maybe not as many people around? Either way It's ok.

So could I assume that it would be lunch at the restaurant on the Maribynong?
Then the cruise up the Yarra and through the docks after lunch.

I am not going to have our boat any near ready, as you have probably worked out if you have been reading my topic, so Megan and I will join the mad mob for the luncheon.

Do we need to make a reservation at the restaurant? Or do we just wing it?

Peter, if you get it water tight we could give you a tow, but I'm sure there will be enough room to meet at the ramp and choose a boat or two to enjoy the cruise in. If everyone is keen to stop and have lunch before heading up the Yarra then we should book early, I was thinking that we should book anyway and if the weather is unkind we just have a "lunchtogether" (non wood boat translation "talk crap")
Alan.
