Vale Keith Simpkin

I was saddened today to learn of the passing of Melbourne boat builder, Keith Simpkin.
As most would know, Keith was a boat builder of considerable repute, building many, many boats in his Melbourne workshop through the 60's, 70's and 80's. Keith's skill and expertise was reflected through the quality of build of his boats and the fact that so many of them still exist today is a legacy of his workmanship.
Thanks Keith. A great bloke, a real character. You built countless wonderful boats over the years, many of which are still well remembered and many of which are still being enjoyed today.
On behalf of the members of the Classic Australian Wooden Power Boat Association, as well as the speed boat community in general, I would like to offer Keith's family our most sincere sympathy and condolences on this sad occasion.
