Is anyone going to the Griffith Cup on at Pykes Creek this Saturday?

The MRSBC has an entry of 21 boats for the 100th anniversary of the famed trophy... GP hydros, BAD displacements and KT's. Should be an awesome event! It's the best entry that I've seen in years & years. This is a two day race meet - the Cup is on Saturday and the weather forecast is perfect 25 degrees & sunny!

you would think they would had some old race boats at this event to mark the 100 year at least as they are celabrating the history or the sport

If the APBA has anything to do with it, then, on past experience, I wouldn't bother. The fact that they don't have old raceboats there pretty much sums up their attitude towards them.

Now let me think about this one for a second.... 100 years of the Griffith Cup, so the first one must have been 1913 which was a long time ago and when boat racing was a new sport & .... nope I can't see a link between a 100 year old event and classic boats either.

The mob running the sport in Australia have lost the plot. While there are so many wonderful classic race boats and the sport has a rich 100 year old history to boot, the APBA sits idle and ignores their own heritage. Utterly pathetic, wrong & disgraceful.

The sad part about this is i had nautilus which was one of the first winners at the tip of my fingers.
I hoped to have it restored for this milestone.
A bad deal meant the national maritime museum got it.
Traditionally that would be a good thing. But this boat will spend eternity in storage never to be displayed.
I would love to go to this event even just to see the final.
I still havent decded if im up for the drive.
