power boat magazines from late 60's

I recently was offered a stack of magazines from the late 60's, from an old family friend who raced a skiff from 67-70. I have had a quick flick through some of them, and there are photos and race meeting results etc from that period. Dave P, there is a photo of Rhonda Babe racing in one of them, for example. I will go through them in detail and make notes of all the boat names that crop up, hopefully it may fill in a few missing links for some of our club members! Stay tuned, Jon.

If those magazines where acquired on your recent trip to Hobart , I remind you that it is against the law to export such items to the mainland. Strict penalties such as finds and possible imprisonment may result.

8-) Stu I'm just trying to equalise the flow of boating bits and pieces, by bringing a bit of stuff out of Tassie :P And you know where you can stick your laws!!

Thommo I'll scan some stuff when I get a chance and post it up. I am working through the articles, race results, and photos in the magazines and jotting down the names of woodies and their driver's at the time, which I'll post up in a list. There are probably other members who also have the same mags, so I may be reinventing the wheel to some extent.

Stu, in your travels down there, can you keep an ear to the ground regarding the location of a 13' skiff which was called Annette? I doubt if it still exists, but wouldn't mind getting hold of it if it's still around. It was last heard of in about 1970 when it was sold (minus motor).
