Hi Paul,
Sure looks like the one I had a drive of unless of course they both had the skull & cross bones on the deck. Didn't have those carbs on it when I had a drive, might have been a single Holley, but I really don't remember.
BTW, both the Mandy and Jawar pics were taken at St George MBC

Was it still call Mandy when you drove it
Re: Mandy - from Australian Hot Rod Magazine 1967
Yep, It sure was called Mandy. Another distinguishing feature at that time was the telescopic draw bar on the trailer.

Both MANDY skiffs had the same designs on the decks along with the same names of Owner , Crew etc. The Skiffs only ever used the down draft Weber carbs on the 350 Chev while owned by Keith Hooper. The reg number of the colored pic appears to have a NSW addition to the V/S 144. There was no carb cover on the early pictures . The Mag article covered the first Hull when it was launched at Albert Park.

There were changes between Hulls as the first one was very flighty with the 600 hp on tap. There may have been changes in beam and length but not huge differences to the naked eye.
I believe Keith Hooper is long deceased as it was ill health that forced him from the sport 40 years ago.

No sudden interest I have always loved that boat and would love to have any one of them but you can always dream. Maybe one day I will make a repro one. I love the painted deck it is so different.
