Just an update on Aggressor. I have the new parts in the engine and have rebuilt the supercharger. The downside is I might have put the shaft in wrong so Im pulling the blower back down to check :( . Ill get it going soon I hope.

The second attempt at rebuilding the supercharger went well. After getting the impellor assembly rebalanced I have just spen the last two day rebuilding it. The blower is now back on the engine where it belongs.

Next job is to figure out how to getting more oil pressure to the camshafts and get a different coupling made for the prop shaft.

Hopefully by the end of the year it will be ready to have another run.

I just read that Les Scott has passed away. What a bummer.
Dave, did he get to see Aggressor again since it was restored?

I finally finished the merlin today. All I need to do now is set the tappets and put it back into the hull. Im still waiting on some machining and the fuel pump to come back from the guys I farmed the work out to. Maybe by christmas it might be done. I hope I put it together right Cant wait to run it again. ;)

I was probably a but premature saying the merlin was finished.
Setting the tappets and doing the cam timming turned into a two month project.
No matter how hard I tried I couldn't get the timing right.
My old mate who is now dead did it in five minutes.
Anyway bronte and I went back to the workshop where I have been doing the work and kept at it till it was right.
Bronte wound the engine over while I laid underneath checking the marks on the crank.
It really made a difference having another set of hands (even though they are little) around.
She even managed to use the feeler gauge to set the five thou needed to make sure everything is in the right place.
Poor little bugger went for a six as she was running to the car to go home and grazed her arm. She was still crying when we got into the door. Suzie gave me the third degree but all was well in the end and bronte happily told her mother what we did today. Gladly she didn't mention all the biscuits my mate kept giving her.

Finally the merlin is back in aggressor. Its been pretty hard to do anything over the last few months.
It really knocked me around putting it in today.
Tomorrow I'll connect everything up. I want to re route some of the oil lines.
I still haven't got my fuel pump back after almost 18 months.
He had promised it to me for friday.
There is the top end sprint this weekend but I think I won't have it done for then.
Shouldn't be long now.
