I texted Jon this morning and he said all was well apart from being subjected to some big hail. He passed by Bundalong and said it was a hellova mess. Not too sure about John S though.

Has Jon put in an insurance claim for the hail damage to AJ yet?

Just saw the footage on the news ........ so much devastation, must have been scarey to go through. I thought tornados were for the USA, never thought we'd see them here like that. Wonder if it's a sign of things to come ..... is global warming the cause ??

Bloody hell the web site timed out on me again - after I just typed out a graphic story of events which passed through our area on Wednesday night. Anyway, we escaped any damage, just had a bit of frigging around mid-hailstorm while I tried to get the Commodore out of the elements. Naturally all the shed and garage bays are occupied so it was a bit of a juggling act, in the end I nosed it in behind Narelle's car, and threw my swag over the boot which was stuck out in the hail. I was hit on the head and the ankle by golf ball sized hail, the one on my ankle still hurts

I had just moved AJAY into the shed the week before, so no insurance claims there unfortunately

No blow job for us Ross, just hail. Strangely enough, the wind wasn't that strong at our place, and the twister passed within 2-3km of us. I missed seeing the Mulwala twister, but my neighbour saw it (I was rooting around with the Commodore still). In his words, "it looked like an angry f&^%ker". As it happens, it was an angry thing, as is evident by the damage at the Dennison County Caravan Park.

Bundalong was surreal yesterday morning - full size gum trees on the side of the Murray Valley Highway stripped of all limbs, with sheets of tin wrapped around anything still standing.

Climate change you say? I doubt it. I'm a climate change sceptic - these things are rare, but not unheard of in the region.

As you say Jon, twisters are not unheard of in the area. About 20 years ago my in laws had a twister go close to their farm in Rutherglen. My father-in-law showed me where it went through. You could see the swathe it cut through the paddocks and up into the Chiltern Hills. It looked like a fire break had been put in. The tops of huge gums were just twisted off, others just torn out of the ground. Nature's power is scary.
