JAYME II

JAYME II is a 16'3"Everingham runabout built in the mid 1960s

Power is from a 307 ci Chev (+40 thou) currently, but was believed to have raced with a 327

During its racing career, it ran with twin four barrel carbies, 6 x Stromberg 97 carbies and fuel injection.
It also had over transom exhausts for some of the time

Previously owned and raced by Peter Spicer*

Purchased by Davis and Kathryn Drewer in March 2008

The boat had not been registered since 1987

Relaunched in October 2009 after a rejuvination

                                                                                                New garboard planks were fitted

Twin 4 barrel Carter carbies fitted in 2014

Pick up day in March 2008. Dave dropped past Paul Siddall's plating shop on the way home and he took these pics. Paul loved the boat, being disappointed on missing its ad in the paper.

Snowdens Beach saw plenty of boat racing up until the late 1960s while the Adelaide Speedboat Club was based there

                                                                                            *      Peter Spicer was a commercial pilot. He raced boats and speedway and was quite well known in
the South Australian boat racing scene. Many people who see Jayme II remember Peter and from
the articles David has seen so far, he raced at many local & interstate venues.
