Cassata

Cassata is a 19' Abbate. The boat was built in 1959 in Italy on the shores of Lake Como, on the opposite side of the lake to the RIVA plant. Interestingly, many hardware items fitted to Abbate boats were supplied by and are the same as those fitted to Riva boats

The boat was ordered new and imported by the Nicholas family (Aspro) and used on Lake Eildon in Victoria.

The boat was sold and taken to Sydney where it was partially dismantled for a refurbishment, but sat stored and unfinished for the next 34 years

Cassata was obtained by Dave Pagano in 2004 who completed the restoration over several months
